Although the Samsung Galaxy S20 series is the latest flagship from the South Korean maker, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ from 2018 is still getting software updates. The two-year-old flagship which was launched with Android 8.0 Oreo was recently been upgraded to Android 10 with the latest One UI in Malaysia.
This is a major software update with about 1.8GB in size and it carries the 1st January 2020 security patch. If you haven’t received any update notification yet, you can check manually under Settings > Software Update > Download and install.
The new One UI brings a couple of updates including enhanced dark mode, refined app icons, cleaner layouts and a new navigation gesture option. There are also some tweaks in the native camera app.
For those still using the Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8+, the latest version is still Android 9.0 Pie. However, the device still receives security updates and the latest patch is dated 1st January 2020.
