Here’s your chance to own a piece of an Airbus A380

The Airbus A380 is an aviation marvel with the capacity of seating up to 853 passengers on its full-length double-deck interior. With Airbus stopping production and more airlines are switching to more fuel-efficient twin-engined alternatives, the A380 days seem to be numbered. If you want to own a piece of this jumbo jet, here’s how.

German-based Aviationtag which turns old aeroplane parts into collectables is now offering “aircraft skin” from a retired Singapore Airlines A380 that carried the registration number 9V-SKA. This is the very first A380 which was delivered to Singapore Airlines on 15th October 2007 and its first scheduled flight was SQ380 which took off from Singapore to Sydney on 25th October 2007.

After over 10 years in service, the aircraft was sent to the scrapyard where 90% of its components are reported to be recycled for spare parts. If you want to own a piece of this aircraft, Aviationtag is offering a limited-edition tag for EUR 27.95 (about RM125.63). Only 7,000 pieces are made and each carries a unique number.

They ship worldwide including Malaysia but shipping will cost EUR 6.95 (about RM31.24) for economy mail and EUR 15.95 (about RM71.69) for 1st class shipping. Apart from the A380, Aviationtag also offers tags from other aircraft including the Airbus A340, Boeing 757, 767, 777, DC-9 and the Fokker 50.
