Realme recently announced that it would be launching the Realme X50 Pro—its first-ever 5G smartphone—at its first-ever MWC press conference on the 24th of February 2020 in Barcelona. But while we wait for that, we’ve had a number of leaks that reveal some of the highlight specs for Realme’s upcoming flagship device.
First off, we have an image shared on Chinese social media page, Weibo, that is purportedly a screenshot of the X50 Pro’s “About Phone” section—that shows that the X50 Pro will feature the Snapdragon 865 5G, which will be mated to 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM. That falls in line with an earlier report that showed off the AnTuTu score of a a then-unknown Realme smartphone that suggested a Snapdragon 865-powered device.
Additionally, we’ll also see Android 10 on the upcoming Realme X50 Pro, and we’ll also see a dual-sim tray. Based on how the Realme X50 looks, we’re also assuming that we’ll see a dual hole-punch cutout on the top-left corner of the display.
Since the X50 comes with a 120Hz 6.57″ Full HD+ display, we could also be seeing a larger, high-refresh rate display on the Realme X50 Pro. Realme India’s CEO, Madhav Sheth, revealed that something “bigger and better” than the X50 5G is coming soon, which could mean a larger display—and a more powerful processor, as mentioned.
The announcement that Realme is announcing a new smartphone at its debut press conference at MWC 2020 comes as many major players in the tech industry have withdrawn.
Concerns over the COVID-19 have led to companies like Facebook, Nvidia, Sony, Ericsson, and Vivo to pull out of the world’s largest trade show of the year. We’re also likely to see the first Smart TV from Realme that will possibly be targeted towards the budget end of the market—just like many of Realme’s offerings.
