A 63 year old man from China has made a full recovery from the 2019 novel coronavirus and is set to return home soon. According to Health Director General, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, the man was treated at Hospital Kuala Lumpur in an isolation ward, an two repeat tests have confirmed that he is no longer infected.
According to the post from his official Facebook page, the patient was the 10th positive case, and had been treated for his symptoms while being continually monitored. No anti-viral drugs were used. The patient has been discharged.
Meanwhile, the Health Director-General also congratulated the team at Hospital Kuala Lumpur for their treatment of the patient, along with the Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya health authorities for their contributions in investigating, and containment efforts for the outbreak.
This is the 3rd case of a patient in Malaysia making a full recovery from the 2019 novel coronavirus. At the time of writing, there are 18 confirmed cases of the virus, with 5 Malaysians and 12 Chinese nationals included. So far, 3 recoveries have been reported, all of Chinese nationals.
