OnePlus makes one of the sleekest and smoothest flagship devices but it has been holding back from offering wireless charging. For the upcoming OnePlus 8 Pro, it appears that the “former flagship-killer” brand could finally come with wireless charging included as standard.
Someone had just spotted OnePlus being listed as a member of the Wireless Power Consortium. The WPC is responsible for Qi Wireless charging standards which are currently widely adopted by most mobile device manufacturers including Apple, Huawei and Samsung. As shown below, Oppo is listed as a full member of the WPC.
However, there’s also a possibility that OnePlus may put wireless charging on a different product first. For example, realme’s first wireless charging supported device is their Realme Buds Air. None of their current smartphones supports wireless charging and they even introduced its own 10W wireless charging pad just for the wireless earphones.
For the upcoming OnePlus 8 Pro, it is expected to feature a 6.7″ 120Hz display and a Snapdragon 865 processor. The device will come with a 5G variant and it is said to come with a quad-camera setup. The OnePlus 8 series is expected to be revealed in the next couple of months.
