With just three weeks away, we now get a clear look at the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, S20+ and S20. These are the latest Samsung flagship smartphones which are scheduled to launch on 11 February 2020.
These clear images were shared by serial leakster Roland Quandt which has been providing legit product renders of past Samsung devices ahead of launch. As confirmed previously, the new top of the line device will feature a quad-camera setup that boasts 100X zoom.
The Galaxy S20 is the successor to the current Galaxy S10 series. Instead of having an “S10e” replacement, Samsung is making the Galaxy S20 as the base model. If you need a larger device, there’s the S20+ and a new larger model that’s called the S20 Ultra. As seen above, Samsung is marketing its zoom feature as “Space Zoom” which is likely a hybrid zoom feature that uses both the main and telephoto camera.
Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra
Being the top of the line option, the Galaxy S20 Ultra is said to come with a large 6.9″ Quad HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and it gets an impressive quad-camera setup. It also retains a stereo speaker setup but if you look at the top of the device, it doesn’t seem to be a traditional earpiece at the top.
According to the spec-sheet that was shared by Ishan Agarwal, the device gets a 108MP main camera, a 48MP telephoto camera with a periscope mechanism (up to 10X optical zoom), a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 3D ToF sensor for depth effects. For selfies, the punch-hole at the top of the display houses a 40MP front camera that is said to be able to record 4K videos at 60fps.
As you would expect with a huge device, the S20 Ultra is listed with a 5,000mAh battery and it is expected to run on an Exynos 990 processor for our market.
Samsung Galaxy S20+
Moving down a notch is a Galaxy S20+ that comes with a slightly smaller 6.7″ Quad HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device comes with a quad-camera setup that consists of a 12MP main camera, 64MP telephoto lens with up to 3X optical zoom, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 3D ToF camera. For selfies, it gets a modest 10MP front camera that can still do 4K videos.
The device gets a 4,500mAh battery and it also shares the same flagship features including IP68 dust and water resistance, as well as stereo speakers tuned by AKG.
Samsung Galaxy S20
The smallest of the lot is the Galaxy S20 that comes with a 6.2″ Quad HD+ display that also pushes a 120Hz refresh rate. The cameras are similar to the S20+ but without a ToF camera. The battery is also smaller at 4,000mAh capacity.
Since the launch is happening on 11th February, we expect preorders to begin in Malaysia shortly after the event. The Galaxy S20 Ultra is Samsung’s most advanced mobile camera setup and this will compete with Huawei’s upcoming P40 Pro series. It is also speculated that the new Huawei flagship device is offering up to 100X digital zoom.
