Vivo V17 and Nex 3 gets a price cut in Malaysia

With Chinese New Year just around the corner, Vivo Malaysia has announced price cuts for two of its smartphones. The Vivo V17 which was launched last month is now slashed by RM200 while its flagship Vivo Nex 3 is now cheaper by RM400.

Vivo V17

The Vivo V17 which is available in Admiral Blue and Crystal White can now be yours for RM1,499 instead of its original price of RM1,699. To recap, it features a 6.44″ Full HD+ Ultra O Super AMOLED display that comes with a tiny punch-hole on the top right corner.

The device runs on a Snapdragon 675AIE processor with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage. For taking photos, it gets a quad-camera setup consisting of a 48MP main, 8MP ultra-wide-angle, 2MP macro and 2MP bokeh camera. The front gets a 32MP selfie camera that’s housed in the punch-hole.

The Vivo V17 gets a huge 4,500mAh battery that supports Vivo’s dual-engine fast charging via USB-C. The device also retains 3.5mm headphone jack.

Vivo Nex 3

If you’re looking for something more powerful, the Vivo Nex 3 is now priced at RM3,499. It comes with a large 6.89″ Waterfall FullView display that pushes a full HD+ resolution. The Nex 3 runs on a Snapdragon 855+ processor and it comes with 8GB RAM + 256GB of storage.

The rear gets a triple-camera setup featuring a 64MP main camera, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 13MP telephoto shooter. For selfies, the Nex 3 gets a 13MP pop-up selfie camera. Keeping the lights on is a 4,500mAh battery that supports 22.5W fast charging via USB-C.

Despite being marketed as the first 5G smartphone, the Nex 3 hasn’t gotten SIRIM’s certification for its 5G bands. The first device to get it is the Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G variant.

Vivo Malaysia is also having a Chinese New Year Bonanza 2020 which gives you a chance to win a Vivo V17, cash prizes, printed family portrait and 1 complimentary reunion dinner. All you’ll need to do is to capture your best and creative family portrait with your smartphone and upload it to this Facebook post as a comment with hashtags #vivoMalaysia and #vivoFamily2020. You must also share the post and make it public to be in the running. The contest will end on 31st January 2020.

If you’re interested, you can purchase the devices through Vivo outlets as well as their online channels on Lazada and Shopee.
