Car sharing platform, SoCar, has finally expanded its service to Ipoh. To mark its arrival, SoCar is offering 3 hours free for the first 2 bookings at their Ipoh SoCar zones.

At the moment, there are 5 SoCar zones with a total of 7 vehicles which include the Perodua Axia, Myvi, Honda City and Toyota Altis. If you’re taking the ETS train to Ipoh, there are currently two cars assigned at the KTM Ipoh station. Unfortunately, you can’t book one-way intercity trip to Ipoh from Kuala Lumpur, Penang or JB.

The booking rate for the Perodua Axia is RM10.09/hour, while the Myvi is going for RM10.94/hour. The Honda City is going for RM13.48/hour and the Toyota Altis can be yours at RM16.96/hour. For bookings of 24 hours, you’ll be charged with a maximum of 12 hours per day. Do note that 20km of mileage is included for every hour of booking and there will be an excess charge of RM0.35 per km if you exceed the provided mileage.

Below is the list of the current SoCar zones in Ipoh:

If you’re planning to book a car, SoCar is giving 3 hours free usage with the code “SOCARMALI”. This is applicable to the first two bookings from any Ipoh SoCar Zone and it valid until 31st January 2020.

To recap, SoCar is a keyless car-sharing platform where you can rent a vehicle hourly or for a couple of days, subject to availability. Petrol is included with the booking, however, you’ll need to submit a claim which can be reimbursed with SoCar credit or direct bank transfer. If you’re new to SoCar, you can sign up here.
