Samsung has just released a video with the theme “Age of Experience” in conjunction with CES 2020. It showcases what technology can do to create new experiences. Halfway through the video, there’s a scene that appears to give a hint of its upcoming Galaxy Fold 2.
As the scene transitions to a guy holding a Samsung Galaxy Fold, he transforms it into a smaller object before it turns into a small bunch of flowers. At first glance, it seems to hint Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Fold 2 which will come in a clam-shell form-factor like the new Motorola Razr.
However, if you take a closer look with a slower playback speed, this purplish looking object looks more like a pack of post-it notes. But this could be a subtle hint of the new device’s form factor. Based on what we’ve seen so far, the new Galaxy Fold 2 will be significantly more compact than most smartphones in the market as you can fold a typical full-screen smartphone by half.
The Galaxy Fold 2 will be launched alongside the Galaxy S20 on 11th February 2020 at San Francisco. Word has it that it will run on a Snapdragon 855 processor, which gives it more grunt than the Motorola Razr. Unlike most foldable smartphones, the next device is speculated to be using a flexible ultra-thin-glass which provides better durability and crease-free viewing.
