Samsung Galaxy Buds+ will feature several upgrades except for one thing

The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2020 event is taking place next month and you can expect to see the latest Galaxy S20 series along with the new Galaxy Fold. Apart from smartphones, Samsung will be releasing an updated version of the Galaxy Buds which are expected to be introduced as the Galaxy Buds+.

According to leakster Ice Universe, the new true wireless earphones will feature improved sound quality, fast charging and better battery life. Unfortunately, it won’t get noise reduction features. This is quite a bummer since the Apple AirPods Pro, the Sony WF-1000XM3 and Huawei FreeBuds 3 offer active noise cancellation.

Galaxy Buds+ does not have noise reduction, but it improves battery life, sound quality and fast charging.

For the current Galaxy Buds, you can get up to 6 hours on a single charge and an additional 7 hours of music playback with its charging case. It isn’t clear if Samsung is adding more listening time to the buds or into the charging case.

Sound quality is something we looked forward to as the current AKG tuned-pair sounded decent but it isn’t worth it for RM499 considering the cheaper options available in the market. The Samsung Galaxy Buds also supports wireless charging and it can be charged via USB-C.

Based on the leakster’s tweet, the new Buds+ might just come with a quick charge feature. We are guessing that you could replenish an hour of music playback with just a few minutes charge on the cable.

In terms of appearance, it looks identical to the current Galaxy Buds. Above is a leaked animation for the new Galaxy Buds+ from XDA Developers. Samsung is likely to introduce new colour options that will match with the new devices.
