Wouldn’t you know it, we’re already in the last month of the year and 2020 is looming on the horizon. For many of us, the month of December would mean taking time off work to spend with our families or just to unwind and relax doing our favourite things.

If your idea of rest and relaxation comes in the form of lazing at home and bingeing on TV series and movies, one season after the other, then you’re in for a treat if you have a subscription to Apple TV+.

Just before November came to a close, Apple premiered a slew of new series and episodes for their Originals line-up. Here are some of the shows that must make it on to your must-watch list.

If you’re a fan of psychological thrillers that keeps you at the edge of your seat anticipating that next plot twist, then hit that play button on “Servant”.

This series was created by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts nominated executive producer and writer Tony Basgallop (Inside Men, What Remains, To the Ends of the Earth) and directed by the king of plot twists and thrillers, Academy Award nominee, M. Night Shyamalan (Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Lady in the Water).

The series is about a couple from Philadelphia who experienced a tragedy which creates a rift between them. The tragedy also acts as a catalyst that opens a door for a mysterious force to enter their home. The series stars Lauren Ambrose (Where the Wild Thing Are, The Other Woman), Toby Kebbell (Warcraft, Kong: Skull Island, War Horse), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter film series) and Nell Tiger Free (Game of Thrones).

The first three episodes of “Servant” are now available to watch on Apple TV+ with new episodes rolling out weekly, every Friday.

For those who prefer a series that’s more grounded in reality, the first three episodes for “Truth Be Told” premiered on the 6th of December. This Apple TV+ limited series stars Academy Award and Golden Globe Award winner Octavia Spencer (The Help, Hidden Figures, The Shape of Water) and Emmy Award Winner Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad, Bojack Horseman, Need for Speed).

Spencer plays the role of Poppy Parnell a podcaster who is compelled to reopen the murder case that made her a national sensation and she has to come face to face with Warren Cave, who she may have mistakenly helped to put behind bars. Parnell’s investigation will see her navigating very urgent and real-world concerns such as privacy, media and race.

The series is created by Nichelle Tramble Spellman who has worked as a writer or producer for other renowned series such as “The Good Wife”, “Justified” and “Confederate”.

Other than those two premiering series, Apple has also announced new episodes for “The Morning Show,” “See” and “For All Mankind.”
