Realme X2 Pro Malaysia: Everything you need to know

If there’s one thing you will know Realme for, it’s their ability to offer really capable smartphones at really affordable prices. Today, they’re launching their first proper flagship smartphone, the Realme X2 Pro, in Malaysia. Here’s what you need to know.

Pricing & availability

Realme’s brand new smartphone will retail for RM2,399 and there will only be one memory configuration available: 12GB RAM + 256GB UFS 3.0 storage.

The Realme X2 Pro will go on sale online at Lazada from the 12th of December onwards. But, before that, the brand will be holding a special in-store midnight sale at DirectD’s Gadget Mega Store in Petaling Jaya on the 7th of December 2019 at 12am. However, if you can’t make it to DirectD, and you want to secure your very own unit, you can Chup Dulu on Lazada on the 5th of December 2019 at 12am. Customers who Chup Dulu will receive a free pair of Realme Buds Wireless, a Realme Power Bank, and a Realme backpack.

The Realme X2 Pro will come in two colours: Neptune Blue and Lunar White. There is also a special Master Edition Realme X2 Pro which comes in a sexy red colourway that’s designed to look like red bricks.

Realme X2 Pro specs

This brand new flagship smartphone is no slouch. Inside, the handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor mated to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Keeping the lights on is a big 4,000 mAh battery that supports 50W SuperVOOC Flash Charge fast-charging technology, via USB-C.

But, the star of this show is definitely the 6.5″ Full HD+ display because it has a fast 90Hz refresh rate. This is something that’s pretty rare even on high-end flagship smartphones, but the benefit is that you’ll have really smooth animations to work with when you’re using the smartphone.

On top of that, the display itself features a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio (like the new iPhone 11 Pro), and is capable of reaching a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. It also houses an in-display fingerprint scanner.

For photos, the Realme X2 Pro packs a quad camera setup at the back and a 16MP front-facing selfie camera with an f2.0 aperture lens plus “a whole lot of beauty settings”, according to Realme. The main quad camera setup features a 64MP wide angle camera, an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera, a 13MP telephoto camera, and a 2MP camera for depth effects.
