The Hyundai i30 N will be sold exclusively on Lazada during 12.12

Hyundai‘s performance-centric i30 N will be coming to Malaysia soon, and the interesting bit of news here is that the i30 N will be exclusively sold on the Lazada Malaysia e-commerce platform. Only 20 units will be available for our market, and sales will begin during Lazada’s 12.12 Grand Year End Sale.

According to Hyundai, this will be their first “true” performance car, and the first ever N variant of the i30 will be powered by a 2.0 litre Theta T-GDI turbocharged engine that will deliver 275PS and 353Nm torque to the front tyres. The hot hatch boasts a 0-100km/h time of 6.1 seconds, and has a top speed of 250km/h—in line with the performance centred approach of the N series.

You only get the option for a 6-speed manual transmission, and the i30 N features an aerodynamic spoiler, along with electronically-adjustable suspension with Skyhook technology. For stopping power, the car has red N brake callipers and 18-inch front and 17-inch rear disc brakes.

There are a number of performance-focused features as well—rev matching, a lap timer, and launch control, while you also get electronic limited slip differential (E-LSD) and a variable exhaust valve system. There are 5 drive modes, all of which can be selected via 2 buttons on the steerings wheel—Eco, Normal, Sports, N, or N Custom—which offer different configurations for different situations.

According to Paultan.org, safety features include Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS). 7 airbags are also spread throughout the car, and there is also High Beam Assist (HBA), which will turn on your high beam lights when there aren’t any cars in front of you for better visibility.

As for pricing, the Hyundai i30 N will be available during the Lazada Grand Year End Sale on the 12th of December for RM298,888 in Peninsula Malaysia (excluding insurance), and prospective buyers can also use Lazada’s “Chup Dulu” to pre-order the car from December the 2nd. As mentioned, only 20 units will be available, and there will be a single option of Hyundai’s “Performance Blue”, along with 19-inch alloy wheels.

The idea of buying a car online may be a relatively novel concept for many (in Malaysia, at least), but the process is relatively simple. You’ll need to pay the booking fee upon confirmation (or 50% of the booking fee for Chup Dulu), and a representative from Hyundai Malaysia will contact you to complete the purchase.

The 20 customers who complete purchases of the Hyundai i30 N will also be entitled to a free trip to Korea, along with a track day experience there. To find out more, head over to the Hyundai Flagship Store on Lazada.
