The Huawei Watch GT 2 was recently launched alongside the Mate 30 Pro awhile back, with up to 2 weeks of battery life promised by Huawei. And now, the smartwatch is officially available in Malaysia—or at least, the larger 46mm variant is.
The Watch GT 2 is available from RM799 at Huawei Stores throughout Malaysia, starting today. In addition to that, purchasers of the Watch GT 2 will also receive a Watch GT 2 strap that’s worth RM69; meanwhile, there is also a lucky draw from the 18th till the 31st of October 2019 where purchasers of the Watch GT 2 will also stand a chance to win a one-year VIP membership to Celebrity Fitness. Only 10 memberships are available for the lucky draw, it must be noted.
To recap, the Watch GT 2 is powered by Huawei’s new Kirin A1 chipset, which Huawei says improves battery life and integrates Bluetooth 5.1—although the battery prediction at 2 weeks is more or less the same as the original Watch GT.
In addition to that, the 46mm Watch GT 2 has an in-built microphone and speaker, so you can make/receive calls using the smartwatch (connected to an accompanying smartphone).
Battery-wise, Huawei promises that the 46mm variant will last for up to 2 weeks (with HR monitor and call notifications on). Users can also expect weekly usage of up to 30 minutes of calls, 30 minutes of music playback, 90 minutes of exercise and with the sleep tracking function on for the larger variant.
At the moment, we don’t have any further news regarding the 42mm version, but we’ll be sure to update this post when we do. To find out more, click here and here.
