Vivo Nex 3 5G unboxing & hands-on

This post is brought to you by Vivo.

The Vivo Nex 3 5G has finally arrived and this is the first 5G smartphone in Malaysia. Apart from supporting faster connectivity, the Nex 3 5G is also a powerful flagship device and it comes with an impressive Waterdrop FullView display.

The device is officially priced at RM3,899 and it comes with 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. In the box, you’ll find a 22.5W (10V 2.25A) Flash Charge power adapter, a USB-C cable as well as a pair of headphones. Also included is a hard case for added protection.

Upfront, the Nex 3 5G features a large 6.89″ Waterfall screen that curves at an extreme angle for a more immersive viewing experience. The screen uses an AMOLED panel that pushes a Full HD+ resolution. For instant unlocking, there’s also an in-display fingerprint scanner. As expected on a flagship smartphone, it runs on a top of the line Snapdragon 855+ processor.

For taking pictures, the 5G smartphone has a triple camera setup housed in a circular bump. It consists of a 64MP main shooter, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 13MP telephoto camera. For selfies, the device gets an elevating 16MP front camera that pops up in just 0.68 seconds.

Powering the Nex 3 5G is a huge 4,500mAh battery that charges via USB-C and it also retains a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Malaysian unit doesn’t come with NFC support. Unlike most smartphones, there’s no physical side power button and volume rocker. Instead, it gets a pressure-sensitive capacitive button which that feels realistic thanks to its haptic feedback.

The Nex 3 5G is launching today and they are giving away RM699 worth of freebies for pre-orders made by 18th October 2019.
