For those of us on iPads, we’ve been eagerly awaiting the 30th of September for the release of iPadOS, which is the first OS that will run exclusively on Apple’s tablets. Of course, iOS 13 was released on the 19th of September, but it seems that Apple has brought forward the dates for the iOS 13.1 update, as well as iPadOS to the 24th of September.
As such, you can now download the official iPadOS 13.1 on your iPads (support devices will be listed below), which will essentially bring a host of new features and layouts to your tablet—theoretically pushing iPads towards “the future of computing”, as Apple likes to say about their tablets.
Of course, this means that users can sign up for Apple Arcade, which promises a library of games at a fixed price of RM19.90 per month for up to 6 users. Users can also use a mouse with their iPads on iPadOS, while the homepage will see a refreshed layout that uses the screen real estate in a more efficient way.
An updated Files app (finally) also makes its way onto iPadOS, along with new multi-tasking options and a Dark Mode. To improve productivity, there’s also the ability to plug in USB drives, SD cards or log into an SMB file server, all from within the Files app. You can view the full breakdown here.
