Samsung Galaxy A50s: Finally, it comes with Samsung Pay!

Samsung’s mid range smartphone just keeps growing because earlier this year they’ve already launched the Galaxy A50 and they’ve just launched an upgraded version of this smartphone called the Galaxy A50s in Malaysia. So let’s check out what is the difference between both smartphones.

The Samsung Galaxy A50 and the A50s shares a lot of similarities from one another. The A50s still retains the same 6.4” Full HD+ Super AMOLED display and it also has a tiny notch that houses the selfie camera.

It also gets 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and if that’s not enough you can always add more because this smartphone has a dedicated slot for 2 nano sims and a microSD card. Powering the device is also a 4,000mAh battery that supports 15W fast charging via a USB-C cable.

So what are the upgrades made by Samsung?

First up is its camera. So even though both the A50 and A50s features a triple camera setup, the A50s gets a 48MP main camera, while the A50 only has a 25MP main shooter. But they both share the same 8MP wide angle camera and a 5MP camera for bokeh effects.

And for the selfie camera, the A50s has a higher resolution 32MP camera while the A50 only gets a 25MP selfie shooter.

The Galaxy A50s looks similar to the current Galaxy A50 but it now features a new back design with a geometric pattern and holographic effect. The A50s also has a slightly better processor from the A50. The A50 is powered by an Exynos 9610 chipset while the A50s runs on an Exynos 9611, so the difference is actually quite minor.

But unlike the Galaxy A50 that was launched few months ago, the A50s finally comes with NFC support. That means you will be able to use Samsung Pay with this smartphone.

So now let’s talk about the price. The Samsung Galaxy A50s is officially priced at RM1,299 and it is now available to purchase at Samsung official online store and authorised retailers.
