The next Xiaomi Mi MIX has an insane curved display

Xiaomi is announcing two new flagship smartphones next week which include a Mi 9 Pro and a brand new Mi MIX. Ahead of the official event, Xiaomi has dropped an interesting teaser for the new MIX device and it shows a side of the phone that is all-screen.

The new futuristic-looking device is called the Mi MIX Alpha. According to their Weibo post, this isn’t a folding device so it could be a candy bar form factor smartphone with a wraparound display.

Xiaomi has not revealed further details of the device and from the image above, the side display is showing the time and date for the upcoming launch event. The Mi MIX series is Xiaomi’s experimental concept phone lineup and it is a showcase of what Xiaomi can do when they are not too busy making cheap and cheerful phones. Essentially, Xiaomi is making concept smartphones that they actually sell to consumers.

It isn’t clear if the display extends to the entire back and we reckon that Xiaomi will continue to drop more clues in the next couple of days. It was previously rumoured that the new Mi MIX will feature Samsung’s latest 108MP camera. Are you looking forward to this?
