Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro full spec sheet revealed

Just hours before the Huawei Mate 30 series is announced, we now get the full specs thanks to serial leakster Ishan Agarwal. Apart from confirming the key hardware specs, Ishan has also revealed that the Mate 30 Pro is capable of capturing slow-mo videos at an insane 7680 frames per second.

Huawei Mate 30 Pro

The Mate 30 Pro is the top of the line model and it features a 6.53″ Full HD+ display (2400×1176 pixels) while running on the latest Kirin 990 processor. Interestingly, there’s no mention of an OLED panel or an in-display fingerprint sensor but it does come with screen sound technology like the current P30 Pro. For security, the device uses 3D Face Unlock.

The Mate 30 Pro is listed with 8GB of RAM along with storage options of 128GB and 256GB. The device will be powered by a huge 4,500mAh battery that supports 40W wired fast charging and 27W wireless charging. Like its predecessor, it also gets IP68-rated dust and water resistance.

In the camera department, the Mate 30 Pro will feature a 40MP f/1.6 wide-angle camera with OIS, a 40MP f/1.8 super-wide-angle camera, an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto camera with OIS and a 3D depth sensor. There’s no periscope camera system so it settles for a standard 3X optical zoom lens that can do 5x hybrid zoom, which is similar to the Mate 20 Pro. For selfies, the device is listed with a 32MP f/2.0 front camera.

According to Ishan, the Mate 30 Pro can do 7680fps slow-mo at 720p and 960fps slow-mo in 1080p. The device can shoot 4K video and it also supports AI-assisted anti-shake stabilisation. Some of the listed camera features include ultra-high-speed photography, ultra-high-definition night photography, time delay photography, large wide-angle, large aperture blur and super Night scene.

Huawei Mate 30

For the standard model, the Huawei Mate 30 comes with a larger 6.62″ Full HD+ (2340×1080 pixels) AMOLED display and it also runs on a Kirin 990. The device can be configured with either 6GB or 8GB RAM with 128GB of storage. It also comes with an in-screen fingerprint sensor and IP53 dust/water resistance.

In the imaging department, the Mate 30 is listed with a 40MP wide-angle f/1.6 main camera with OIS, a 16MP f/2.2 super wide-angle camera and 8MP f/2.4 telephoto camera with OIS. The spec-sheet doesn’t seem to mention the 4th lens and looking at the official pics, it looks like one of the “camera” is blacked out. For selfies, it is a notch below the Mate 30 Pro as it settles for a lower 24MP f/2.0 front camera.

Powering the device is a 4,200mAh battery which is still rather huge and it also supports 40W fast wired charging and 27W wireless charging. For those who prefer to use their own headphones, the Mate 30 appears to come with a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Huawei Mate 30 series launch is happening this evening at 8PM Malaysian time. You can catch the live stream and follow us on Twitter for the latest updates from the event.
