The first Tweet on @Apple will send users reminders on iPhone 11 event, if you like it

Apple is set to unveil the iPhone 11, as well as other new products including the updated Apple Watch, at its annual event in September 2019. If you’re looking for an easy way to stay updated on any developments, the Cupertino-based company has sent out a Tweet on its Twitter account—the only Tweet on the account, in fact.

While reports do indicate that there have actually been Tweets from @Apple in the past, those didn’t appear on their account page, which is pretty strange. However, it’s been since reported that the particular Tweet was, in fact, an advertisement—despite looking and performing like a regular Tweet.

Therefore, it seems that Apple has finally broken their Twitter silence (at least on their main @Apple account) to hype up the Apple Event, which will be held in the Steve Jobs Theater, at 1am on the 10th of September 2019. If you “like” the Tweet by clicking on the heart icon, you’ll also get reminders and news on the event.

This isn’t the first time that Apple has sent reminders using Twitter, with this article revealing that Apple spent more than RM1 million for a custom build on Twitter: “like for reminder”. Pretty staggering, if you think about it. I’ve already tapped the heart icon, but I’ve yet to receive any reminders as of yet.

At the upcoming event, Apple is expected to unveil the “Pro” successors to the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, as well as an upgrade to the cheapest iPhone in the range, the XR. In addition to that, the tech giant usually announces a new Apple Watch alongside iPhone releases, so be sure to keep your eye out for that.
