Huawei Mate 30 Pro could have an even larger battery than its predecessor

The Huawei Mate 30 Pro and Mate 30 are set to be launched sometime in Q4 of 2019, with speculation even suggesting that the eagerly-anticipated flagship series from the Chinese company could be launched in September. As previously reported, the Mate 30 Pro is likely to feature a new flagship Kirin 990 processor, with an announcement expected at upcoming IFA 2019 event.

And with news that Huawei could also be introducing the world’s fastest wireless charger at 30W for wirelessly charging Mate 30 series smartphones, a leaked image has surfaced that reveals the possible capacity of these smartphones’ batteries. Posted by a blogger on Weibo who refers to “informed sources”, the images indicate that the Mate 30 Pro will feature a 4,500mAh battery, while the Mate 30 will be equipped with a 4,200mAh battery.

This claim has seemingly been corroborated by a Korean certification site, which indicate that the batteries pictured above are genuine. However, there isn’t any evidence that actually indicates a link between the batteries above and the upcoming Mate 30 series. They could, in theory, be for any Huawei device.

If the leaked image above is true, then the Huawei Mate 30 will have a battery that is 5% larger than the Mate 20, while the Mate 30 Pro will have a 7% larger battery as compared to the Mate 20 Pro. The Mate 30 Pro is also rumoured to utilise a larger 40MP 1/1.5″ sensor for its main camera, with an aperture of f/1.4 to f/1.6. A second 40MP shooter could have a 1/1.7″ sensor for the ultra-wide-angle shooter with a field of view of 120-degrees. For the zoom lens, it is said to be an 8MP camera with 5X zoom (likely optical) which is similar to the P30 Pro.
