The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 series is launching on the 7th August 2019 in New York (4AM on 8th August Malaysian Time). Before the upcoming Unpacked announcement, the Korean smartphone maker has announced a special pre-event that will unveil two new Galaxy devices.
From the teaser video, Samsung has provided a brief glimpse of a new flagship tablet that comes with an S Pen. There’s also an accompanying keyboard that can transform it into a laptop-like form factor.
Also seen is a new Galaxy Watch that has a brand new sensor at the rear. Towards the end, the video showed two dates, 31st July 2019 for the tablet and 5th August 2019 for the Watch.
If you’ve been following the latest leaks from Samsung, these devices are the Galaxy Tab S6 and the Galaxy Watch Active 2.
Galaxy Tab S6
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 is the latest flagship Android tablet that will compete directly with Apple’s iPad Pro series. It is speculated to come with a 10.5″ (likely Quad HD+) display along with a quad-speaker setup tuned by AKG. The slab is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 855 processor with at least 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
The new S Pen for the Tab S6 has been redesigned and it appears that you can also charge it by attaching it to the rear of the tablet. The new tablet has no physical fingerprint sensor and it is possible that Samsung might include an in-display unit or they could just stick to face unlock as the default security method.
Galaxy Watch Active 2
Just five months after introducing the Watch Active with the Galaxy S10 series, Samsung will be introducing a new Watch Active 2 which appears to come with a built-in ECG feature. Similar to Apple, the Watch is also said to come with a fall detection feature.
All shall be revealed in the next couple of days. It is likely that Samsung will showcase these two products at the Samsung Unpacked event.
