A moment of silence, please, for the death of the headphone jack on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10. You lasted quite a while, but the odds are stacked against you surviving on Samsung’s upcoming flagship Note. That said, not all is lost as rumour has it that Samsung will be launching a couple of new headphones including a new pair of Galaxy Buds.
Leakster Roland Quandt (@rquandt) revealed on Twitter that there would be a new variant of the Samsung Galaxy Buds that’ll come with a colourway that matches the upcoming Galaxy Note 10’s new Aura colour. According to him, the new Buds will likely still feature the same tech, with the only difference being this new iridescent colour. He also spotted entries on several Samsung regional sites that confirm this new colourway on the Galaxy Buds.
It is unfortunate that the new Buds don’t get any new tech–one can hope for ANC–but I have to say the new colour does add a bit more pizzazz to the otherwise tame Galaxy Buds design. But, the good news is that these new buds will likely be the same price as the original when it officially launches.
That said, if you want active noise cancellation (ANC), there’s still good news because reports have indicated that the Galaxy Note 10 will also launch with a pair of wired ANC headphones. Naturally, since there’s no headphone jack, it’ll work with USB-C, which is pretty cool to see because manufacturers tend to not bother with including decent headphones with their devices.
