Could the Galaxy Note 10 come with lower resolution Full HD display?

The Galaxy Note 10 series will be launching in about two weeks time and it will come in two different sizes. For those that require the best hardware possible, Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy Note 10+ that will come with a larger display and a bigger battery.

According to a source in Greece, it is alleged that the Galaxy Note 10 will not only come with a slightly smaller display but also with a lower screen resolution.

It is alleged that the smaller Note 10 will feature a 6.3″ Full HD+ panel while the more premium Note 10+ will come with a 6.8″ Quad HD+ screen. Both devices will feature a punch-hole in the middle for a selfie camera.

The Note 10 is also said to come with a smaller 3,500mAh battery and the bigger Note 10+ will be getting a 4,300mAh capacity unit. As rumoured earlier, the Galaxy Note 10+ is expected to support 45W fast charging, however, the smaller Note 10 will support a lower 25W fast charging, which is still faster than its current S10 series.

As seen from a couple of renders, the new Note 10 series will no longer feature a fan-favourite 3.5mm headphone jack. Since the Note 10 is focused on productivity, the source claims that the Note 10 series will come with 12GB of RAM as standard with a minimum storage of 256GB.

It’s also alleged that the new Galaxy Note 10 will feature Live Focus Video which is similar to the Galaxy A80. However, we think this is likely to be offered only on the Galaxy Note10+ which is expected to come with a fourth camera for 3D depth sensing. In terms of the stylus, the Greek source claims that the updated S Pen will feature new air gestures and different sound effects depending on the tool you use.

Personally, I don’t think it makes sense for Samsung to downgrade the display for the Galaxy Note 10 and a lower resolution display would only make sense if this was a Galaxy Note 10e. People who want the best display shouldn’t be forced to go for the larger Note 10+. I still think that the Galaxy Note 10 will continue to use a Quad HD+ AMOLED panel but with Full HD+ as its default set resolution.
