Xiaomi Malaysia sold 100,000 Redmi Note 7 units in just three months

If you have a new smartphone budget of just RM1,000, the Redmi Note series has always been one of our top recommended devices. It offers a decent screen, a powerful mid-range processor and a big battery at an unbeatable price.

For the latest Redmi Note 7, Xiaomi has announced a new milestone in Malaysia and they have sold 100,000 units in just three months. That’s an average of over 1,000 units sold per day.

Announced locally in March this year, the Redmi Note 7 is priced from RM679 for the base 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant and it goes all the way up to RM949 for the top of the line 4GB RAM + 128GB storage version. It features a 6.3″ Full HD+ display, a more powerful Snapdragon 660 processor and it still maintains a generous 4,000mAh battery.

For the first time in the Redmi series, the Redmi Note 7 has finally switched to USB-C for its charging port and it still retains a 3.5mm headphone jack as well as an infrared blaster. The device also comes with a 48MP main and a secondary 5MP depth camera, which is remarkable for its price range.

Unfortunately, we don’t get the higher-spec Redmi Note 7 Pro that runs on a more powerful Snapdragon 675 processor. The Pro model also uses a Sony IMX586 sensor for its main camera instead of a Samsung GM1.

Globally, the entire Redmi Note 7 series has sold a total of 15 million units over a period of 6 months. This shouldn’t come as a surprise considering Xiaomi is doing well in India and they have also expanded its footprint in Europe.
