Huawei Mate 30 Pro could come with more cameras than P30 Pro

The Huawei Mate 30 Pro hasn’t even been launched yet, but the rumour mills have already been churning with leaks and concept renders of the upcoming flagship smartphone from Chinese tech company. The Mate 30 Pro is expected to launch in Q4 of this year, and Huawei’s No Worries price drop campaign only served to whet appetites for the Mate 30 Pro.

Earlier, the Mate 30 Pro was rumoured to be coming with circular bump for the camera setup after an image of its purported back panel was leaked online. However, it seems that myth has been debunked.

Huawei Central reported that they have received an image that was taken from Huawei’s product line, which reveals that the camera setup on the upcoming flagship will instead be more conventionally-shaped. The rectangular shaped cutout is slightly rounded around the edges, and is longer than the square-shaped cutout in its predecessor, the Mate 20 Pro.

This could be indicative of a quad, or even 5, rear camera setup, along with space for an LED flash. The Mate 30 Pro is expected to bring the Mate 20 Pro’s 3D structural light technology over, and could also possibly feature a Kirin 985 processor, 5G support, and an AMOLED screen with a refresh rate up to 90Hz. Like the P30 Pro, its rear camera could also support 50x digital zoom and 5x optical zoom.

Nothing is concrete right now, although the circular-shaped camera bump could be still utilised in other variant of the Mate 30 Pro—such as the Porsche-designed version, perhaps. Regardless of whether it will be square, rectangular, or circularly shaped, the Mate 30 Pro will certainly turn heads when it arrives sometime later this year. We’re certainly looking forward to it.
