When Xiaomi announced the Mi 9T for the global market, there’s just one model which runs on a Snapdragon 730 processor. Many were expecting to see the Mi 9T Pro which is based on the flagship killing Redmi K20 Pro in China.
If you’re still waiting for the triple-camera flagship smartphone it appears that the Mi 9T Pro does exist and it was spotted in a watermark template found in the MIUI camera app.
An XDA member had found three different watermarks for the Redmi K20 Pro. There are images with the codename raphael and raphaelin, which carries the Redmi K20 Pro branding for China and India. Interestingly, there’s also an image with the codename raphael_global that shows “Shot on Mi 9T Pro”.
This discovery confirms that a Pro model will be shipped for markets outside China and India. It was recently confirmed that the Mi 9T Pro will be released in Russia and another source has also claimed that Poland will be getting the Mi 9T Pro as well in the next couple of months.
However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that Xiaomi will be introducing the Mi 9T Pro in Malaysia. They could be adopting a different strategy in various markets, for example, the Redmi Note 7 Pro with a Snapdragon 675 processor is only released in China and India.
The Mi 9T with a Snapdragon 730 processor will be launched in Malaysia tomorrow. If you want to learn more about the device, you can check out our links below:
