In the wake of recent allegations, the Minister of Economic Affairs, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali has issued a press statement in response. The cabinet minister categorically denied the accusations, labelling the claims by an individual (who uploaded a video identifying Azmin and himself in the viral sex clip) as “vicious libel” against him.
The minister also referred to efforts to intimidate him and his family over the final week of Ramadhan as well as accusations of corruption as part of a series of efforts to destroy his political career. Legal action, according to the statement, will be taken.
MACC’s response
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has also issued a response to the media; the report lodged by UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Lokman Adam will also investigated by Latheefa Koya’s deputy.
The Chief Commissioner will not be involved in the investigation process at all, the statement further reads.
Haziq Aziz
The video with the individual making these allegations were uploaded on Haziq Aziz’s Facebook page—we have reached out and will update this article if and when he provides a response.
That said, claims by Santubong PKR chief, Ahmad Nazib Johari, that Haziq isn’t the individual in the video could mean that his Facebook page has been compromised.
