Following its tweet yesterday, Xiaomi has just confirmed that its next Mi 9 device will be called the Mi 9T. The device has already passed Malaysia’s SIRIM certification and it looks like it will be available very soon.
The Xiaomi Mi 9T is expected to be the global name of the recently announced Redmi K20. The device features a 6.39″ Full HD+ AMOLED display and it comes with a 20MP pop-up selfie camera.
Under the hood, the Mi 9T is expected to run on a Snapdragon 730 processor and there’s a possibility of a Mi 9T Pro model that comes with a more powerful Snapdragon 855 processor. On top of that, it gets a triple camera setup with a 48MP main camera plus a large 4,000mAh battery. You can learn more about the Redmi K20 series in our announcement post.
Since this is going to be a Xiaomi branded smartphone, there’s a possibility that it could be priced higher than the Redmi K20 in China. After all, the Mi lineup is often positioned to be more premium compared to the affordable Redmi series.
