[UPDATE 28/05/2019 17:00 ]: Redmi K20 is now officially revealed. Priced from 2,499CNY (about RM1,517).

The Redmi K20 is Xiaomi’s new flagship killer which will be announced today in China. It seems that the Redmi K20 will be made available for global markets and Malaysia will be included.

A new device with the model number M1903F10G has just gotten the green light from SIRIM and the same device was also certified in Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan.

When the device passed NBTC certification in Thailand and it carries the marketing name Mi 9T. It was recently rumoured that the Redmi K20 series will be released as a Xiaomi Mi 9T and Mi 9T Pro. So this discovery makes it highly likely to be the Redmi K20.

If we look into SIRIM’s listing, the device has support for 802.11ac WiFi and NFC. Interestingly, the 4G LTE bands are limited to 1800MHz, 2100MHz and 2600MHz. As a comparison, the Mi 9 SE which was listed underneath it supports additional bands such as 850MHz, 900MHz and 2300MHz.

If this is indeed the Redmi K20 without the “Pro” moniker, the device will be running on a Snapdragon 730 processor instead of a Snapdragon 855 unit. The rest of the hardware should be similar as the top of the line model which include a full edge to edge display without a notch, a triple camera setup with a 48MP camera as its main shooter, a pop-up selfie camera and a large 4,000mAh battery.

Considering the Pro model is priced from 2,599CNY (about RM1,577), you can expect the standard K20 model to be more affordable and this could hover around the same price range as the current Mi 9 SE in Malaysia. The Redmi K20 series will be revealed today and hopefully we will learn more about its international availability soon.

Thanks @KevinNgTK for the tip!
