The Black Shark 2 gaming smartphone is now available on contract with Maxis postpaid. The base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage is retailing for RM2,499 but you can get it from RM1,399 on contract. Alternatively, you can own it from RM67/month on Maxis’ Zerolution instalment program.
Maxis Zerolution
As usual, Maxis Zerolution allows you to own the Black Shark 2 with zero upfront cost. Just pay the device instalment amount and the monthly subscription cost across a period of 24-months.
The device is offered from RM104/month on its MaxisONE Plan 98 and the monthly instalment goes down to RM67/month on its highest MaxisONE Plan 188 plan.
Maxis Standard Contract
If you prefer to own the Black Shark 2 the usual way, you can get the device on a normal contract. Do note that during registration, you’ll need to pay a device advance payment which ranges from RM396 on MaxisONE Plan 98 to RM756 on MaxisONE Plan 188.
This device advance payment will be rebated back to your monthly bill. If you’re a long term Maxis customer with good payment records, you may be eligible for a waiver for this advance payment. The prices shown below are tied with a 24-month contract.
The Black Shark 2 is a gaming smartphone that’s backed by Xiaomi. It features a 6.39″ AMOLED Full HD+ display and it is powered by a Snapdragon 855 processor. The device has a 48MP main + 12MP secondary camera with 2X optical zoom, while the front comes with a 20MP selfie camera. Powering the Black Shark 2 is a 4,000mAh battery and it supports 27W fast charging via USB-C.
At the moment, it appears that Maxis is only offering the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage version which comes in Shadow Black. If you prefer the higher spec 12GB RAM + 256GB storage version, you’ll have to purchase it outright from an authorised reseller. The high-spec model retails for RM2,999.
