ZenFone 6 features revealed: Did ASUS just make the ultimate flagship smartphone?

The ASUS ZenFone 6 will be unveiled on 16th May 2019, just days after the OnePlus 7 series. Ahead of its launch event, the Taiwan smartphone maker has revealed several key specs and features of its latest flagship smartphone.

While most flagship models are lacking in certain areas when compared to mid-range smartphones, ASUS appears to be throwing everything they’ve got for the ZenFone 6.

Yesterday, ASUS had tweeted the following image which highlights some of the essential features that most power users would want. Apart from having a top of the line Snapdragon 855 processor, the ZenFone 6 will still retain a headphone jack and a full triple-slot tray which allows you to insert two SIM cards and a microSD card at the same time.

On top of that, the new flagship will come with a notification light and there’s a smart key which presumably you can customise according to your prefered action. Instead of placing the smart key on the middle of the side frame, it is oddly placed at the top.

That’s not all, there’s also an Instagram picture which is believed to be shot on the new ZenFone 6. The Instagram account belongs to Marcel Campos, the Head of Global Marketing Operations for ASUS and in the description, there’s a morse code that provided additional clues.

If you convert the above message with a morse code translator, you’ll get the following text which appears to be in Portuguese:

LIGUEPARA 855-4813-5000 EFALECOMSTEPHANPANTOLOMEUEDUARDOCAMPOSSILVA

The text “855-4813-500” appears to hint that the device will come with a Snapdragon 855 processor, a 48MP + 13MP dual-camera setup and a 5000mAh battery. ASUS has been putting a huge 5,000mAh battery on the ZenFone Max Pro M1 and Max Pro M2, and it would be great to have a similar battery capacity on their latest and greatest model. As a comparison, its current ASUS ZenFone 5Z is equipped with a modest 3,300mAh battery.

The rest of the specs are yet to be confirmed but it is highly that ASUS will introduce a new display that has no notches or punch-holes. It could feature a pop-up selfie camera or a new two-way slider design which I think looks pretty interesting.

What do you think of the ZenFone 6 so far? Let us know in the comments below.
