Asus teases the ZenFone 6 with thin bezels and no notch

ASUS will be unveiling a new ZenFone smartphone very soon and it carries the tagline “defy ordinary”. The ZenFone 6 was teased during MWC19 and now they have dropped another new teaser which provides more clues for its front display.

As seen in the image above, the device appears to come with no notch or punch-holes. The ZenFone 6 is also shown with thin bezels with an almost non-existent forehead and chin. If you look closely at the top, there’s a slim speaker grill which means that the device still retains a traditional earpiece speaker.

Since this is a flagship, you can expect ASUS to pack a top of the line Snapdragon 855 processor with a generous amount of RAM and storage. Last year’s ZenFone 5Z was one of the most affordable Snapdragon 845 powered smartphones available in Malaysia and the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage version was only going for RM2,299 at the time of launch.

The biggest question at the moment is how do you take a selfie with the ZenFone 6? Will it get a pop-up selfie camera like the Vivo V15 Pro and Oppo F11 Pro? Or will get a funky slider mechanism as rumoured earlier?

The ZenFone 6 launch is happening in Valencia, Spain at 8:00PM on 16th May 2019 and the event will be streamed live. That’s 2:00AM Malaysian Time on 17th May.
