Xiaomi Mi 9 SE Malaysia: Everything you need to know

The Mi 9 SE is finally launched in Malaysia. This is considered as the budget-friendly version of Xiaomi Mi 9 flagship smartphone.

In terms of specs, the Mi 9 SE is offered in two spec variant. The 6GB RAM + 64GB storage model is priced at RM1,299 while the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is going for RM1,499. The device will be on sale starting 4th May 2019 and it will be available on the official Mi Store on Lazada and Shopee. Xiaomi is also bundling a Mi Powerbank 2S for free while stocks last.

The Mi 9 SE is a premium mid-range smartphone and it comes with a 5.97″ Full HD+ AMOLED display. Similar to the Mi 9, the device also comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor. It has a tiny notch at the top which houses a 20MP selfie camera with AI beautification.

Under the hood, the Mi 9 SE runs on a Snapdragon 712 processor. For taking pictures, it gets a triple camera setup at the rear which consists of a 48MP f/1.75 main camera, 13MP f/2.4 ultra-wide-angle-lens and an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto camera.

Keeping the lights on is a 3,070mAh battery and it charges via USB-C. The Mi 9 SE lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack, microSD expansion slot but it does come with NFC support.

For those who want a flagship class device, the full fledged Xiaomi Mi 9 with a Snapdragon 855 processor is officially priced at RM1,699 for the base 6GB RAM + 64GB storage model and RM1,999 for the higher 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant.
