Redmi, the sub-brand under Xiaomi, will be unveiling a new budget smartphone that will feature a 32MP selfie camera. The device is called the Redmi Y3 and it will be unveiled on Wednesday in India.
Xiaomi has revealed that the Redmi Y3 battery is a 4,000mAh unit which is similar to the Redmi 7. From the short teaser video, the display comes with a notch which is also the same as what you get with the current Redmi 7. There’s also a dual-camera as well as a rear mounted fingerprint sensor. The device will also get some form of splash resistance which could be a nano-coating from P2i.
The full specs aren’t revealed yet but the Redmi Y3 is expected positioned between the Redmi 7 and Redmi Note 7. It is also speculated to run on a Snapdragon 632 processor.
The Redmi Y3 launch is happening on the 24th April 2019 in India. It isn’t clear if the device will be released in global markets and since this is a selfie-centric device, it could be released as a successor to the Redmi S2.
