Honor 20 Lite unboxing

One of the most exciting changes in the smartphone world over the last few years has to be the growth of budget and mid-range options.

However, not everyone can afford a flagship smartphone like the Samsung Galaxy S10 or the Huawei P30 Pro. But mid range smartphones these days are actually quite decent for its price.

That is why we have the Honor 20 Lite with us and let’s see what’s inside the box.

Once you’ve opened the box, you will be greeted with a smaller box that comes with a SIM ejector tool. Since this our Honor 20 Lite is a review unit, the box does not come with a case or headphones.

Underneath the box, you will find the Honor 20 Lite itself, an adapter and also a microUSB cable.

Now let’s talk about the Honor 20 Lite. Just like any smartphone these days, it has a glossy and reflective back. You will also notice it also has a purple to pink gradient, which Honor calls it the Phantom Red.

This device features a 6.21”Full HD+ display and it also has a tiny notch that houses the 32MP selfie camera. The colors emitted on the display looks accurate enough and well saturated. It is extremely sharp too.

In terms of performance, the Honor 20 Lite runs on a mid-range Kirin 710 processor that’s mated to 4GB of RAM and a generous 128GB of internal storage.

This device supports dual sim and if you need extra storage on your phone, you can also add a mircoSD card on its hybrid SIM tray slot.

Moving on to the camera side of things, the Honor 20 Lite features a triple camera setup and it consists of a 24MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens and a 2MP camera for depth effects.

The pictures taken on the Honor 20 Lite’s rear camera turns out to be over-saturated, but if you want a natural looking photo, the AI mode can always be turned off.

The 32MP selfie camera seems pretty decent for its price too. But the picture turns out to be overly-beautified even though the AI beautification mode was turned off.

Keeping the lights on is a 3,400mAh battery and it charges via a microUSB port.

The Honor 20 Lite is officially priced at RM949. If you are interested, the device will go on sale exclusively on Shopee and Honor’s website on the 24th of April 2019.

But if you prefer to get this device in physical stores, the Honor 20 Lite will be available at Honor Experience Stores nationwide starting from the 26th of April 2019.
