The Samsung Galaxy Fold is now available for pre-order in the US and it has a retail price tag of US$1,980 (about RM8,148). If you’re wondering if it’s possible to get a case for this foldable smartphone, Samsung has just revealed a couple of cover options on its official product site.
According to the Galaxy Fold’s accessories page, the Galaxy Fold comes with a bundled slim cover that uses lightweight and durable material. Samsung’s official spec-sheet has listed the case as an Aramid Fibre Cover. As shown below on the far right, the Galaxy Fold slim cover comes with a carbon-fibre-like pattern.
The official case appears to adopt a two-piece design and it has cut-out holes for the cover display, front and rear cameras as well as the earpiece speaker. When it’s closed, it doesn’t cover the hinge, unlike Spigen’s concept cover for the Galaxy Fold.
If you’re looking for something more premium, Samsung also has Leather Cover options that uses calfskin leather and it’s available in either Black or White. Interestingly, there’s a fine print that suggests that you remove the cover for a better Wireless PowerShare performance. This feature turns the Galaxy Fold into a reverse wireless charging device.
Since the Galaxy Fold is the most premium smartphone at the moment, the device also gets Galaxy Buds out of the box instead of your typical wired earphones. By default, the Galaxy Fold can be yours in either Space Silver or Cosmos Black, but there are also customisable colour options where you can opt for green or blue for the body while having a different colour for the hinge. Samsung Malaysia has yet to provide any availability details and we expect the Galaxy Fold to be priced lower when it goes on sale locally.
