A case maker has designed case for the Galaxy A80 that has a cut out for a rotating selfie camera

The Galaxy A80 is the first Samsung smartphone to feature a new Infinity Display that offers an all-screen display. Instead of putting a notch or a punch-hole on the screen, the Galaxy A80 has a sophisticated slider + rotating camera mechanism to solve the selfie camera conundrum.

Because of this approach, you must be wondering how does one protect the device from scuffs and scratches? Is it even possible, to create a case? During the Samsung Galaxy A launch event, Samsung didn’t reveal any official cases but it appears that case maker, Olixar, has something for the Galaxy A80.

A couple of Galaxy A80 cases were spotted on Olixar’s website. At the time of posting, the images have already been pulled down but the folks at GSMArena have managed to grab a copy of it.

There are two design options – A leather folio case design while the other is a slip-on case which covers most of the back and it provides some form of screen protection by raising the bezels for the front. The slip-on case uses a gel material that provides a non-slip coating for extra grip. Meanwhile, the leather version also doubles up as a stand which makes it easier to watch videos on the table.

In both versions, it leaves just enough room at the top for the camera module to pop-up. There’s also enough allowance at the sides to allow the side frame to slide up. Of course, this means that the top of the Galaxy A80 is left exposed but at least it’s some form of protection for those who have butterfingers.
