Rode has just introduced their Wireless Go mic and they are calling it the world’s smallest and most versatile wireless microphone system. If you’re looking for a compact wireless microphone for vlogging, this could be the mic for you.

On the transmitter end, you can use it as a clip-on mic as it comes with a built-in omnidirectional condenser capsule. Alternatively, you can always plug-in a lavalier mic through its 3.5mm TRS port and clip the transmitter onto your belt.

On the Wireless Go receiver, there’s a screen which indicates the battery levels for both units as well as signal strength. According to Rode, the mics have a battery life of up to 7 hours and you can charge it via USB-C. If the battery is flat, you’re also able to use it while it’s being charged.

In terms of connectivity, the Wireless Go uses Rode’s Series III Digital 2.4GHz transmission and it is designed to be used in environments that are crowded with other wireless devices. It has a range of up to 70m in clear line-of-sight.

Both the transmitter and receiver have similar dimensions of about 4.5cm x 4.5cm and each weighs 31g. It comes with a clip which can be attached to a camera’s cold shoe. Both units are paired out of the box but if you need to pair manually, it just takes two seconds.

In the US, the Rode Wireless Go is priced at US$199 (about RM815) and it is expected to go on sale starting 17 April 2019. For more info, you can check out the product page.
