UPDATE: Celcom has revealed its Huawei P30 series contract plans.
The Huawei P30 and P30 Pro are going on sale in Malaysia starting this weekend. If you’re considering to get the Huawei P30 with a postpaid plan, you can get it for free from Celcom with a 24-month contract. On top of that, they are also giving away a wireless charging case for free.
According to Celcom’s Facebook post, the Huawei P30 with 128GB of storage will be available at all Bluecube outlets nationwide on the 6th April 2019 onwards. To get it for free, you’ll need to sign up for a Celcom Platinum Plus postpaid plan with one Mobile Family line.
The Celcom Platinum Plus plan costs RM188/month and it comes with unlimited calls, 100GB of high-speed data and 100GB of super video walla for video streaming. Meanwhile, the supplementary Mobile Family line costs RM48/month and it comes with 5GB of shareable data and unlimited calls. So in total, your monthly commitment is RM236/month in order to get the P30 for free.
If you’re looking for a lower commitment plan, we expect Celcom to reveal more options this coming Saturday.
To recap, the Huawei P30 is officially priced at RM2,699 and it comes with a 6.1″ flat OLED display that pushes a Full HD+ resolution. It runs on a Kirin 980 processor with 8GB of RAM and it features a triple-camera setup. It has a 40MP f/1.8 main camera, a 16MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera and an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto shooter that does 3X optical zoom. For selfies, it has a 32MP selfie-camera on its U-shaped notch.
Powering the P30 is a 3,650mAh battery that supports Huawei’s 22.5W SuperCharge power brick via USB-C. While it doesn’t have IP68 water resistance like the P30 Pro, it still retains a 3.5mm headphone jack. On its own, the P30 doesn’t support wireless charging but you can enable this feature with the optional wireless charging case.
