Huawei Matebook 13 has arrived in Malaysia

During the Malaysian launch of the P30 series, Huawei has also announced its MateBook 13 laptop for our local market. Similar to its flagship smartphones, the 13″ laptop is also going on sale in Malaysia on the 6th April 2019.

For Malaysia, the Huawei Matebook 13 will be available in two spec options. The Core i5 model with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD is going for RM3,999, while the higher spec Core i7 unit with 8GB RAM + 512GB SSD is going for RM4,399. That’s quite a lot of difference for a mere RM400 extra.

The Matebook 13 is now available for pre-order via Huawei’s official online store. As a pre-order promo, they are giving away free gifts worth RM857 which include a Huawei AF30 Bluetooth mouse, a Microsoft Office 365 Home subscription and a Huawei Laptop Backpack.

In terms of hardware, the Matebook 13 comes with a 13″ FullView display that pushes a resolution of 2160×1440 pixels. It boasts a thin 4.4mm bezel which gives the device a 88% screen-to-body ratio. The laptop is 14.9mm thin and it weighs 1.3kg.

It is powered by an 8th gen Intel Core processor and it has a Nvidia GeForce MX150 GPU. Both models come with 8GB LPDDR3 RAM clocked at 2133MHz.

In terms of connectivity, the Matebook 13 comes with two USB-C ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It comes with two speakers that are enhanced by Dolby Atmos. For a seamless sharing with a compatible Huawei or Honor smartphone, it also supports OneHop which is activated by NFC. According to Huawei, you can transfer 500 photos in 1 minute or 1GB of video in just 35 seconds.

Powering the Huawei Matebook 13 is a 42Wh battery which is rated to last 9.6 hours of video playback. It comes with a 65W USB-C power adapter which claims to push 2.5 hours of office usage from a quick 15-minute charge.
