Xiaomi Mi 9 official Malaysian price revealed. Pre-order now available

After announcing the Redmi 7 and Redmi Note 7 in Malaysia, Xiaomi is expected to introduce its Mi 9 flagship smartphone in Malaysia very soon. The device packs top of the line specs with a versatile triple camera setup and now we can confirm that it will be priced just under RM2,000.

According to retailer DirectD, the Xiaomi Mi 9 will be priced officially at RM1,999 in Malaysia. There’s just one variant for now with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage. If you’re interested, pre-order is now available at DirectD with a RM200 deposit.

The device is listed to arrive sometime in April without any mention of specific dates. The Mi 9 is offered with just two colour options – Piano Black and Ocean Blue.

To refresh your memory, the Mi 9 comes with a 6.39″ Full HD+ AMOLED display that has a dewdrop notch at the top. It runs on a top of the line Snapdragon 855 processor and it features a triple-camera setup. The device also comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

There’s a 48MP main camera, a 12MP telephoto shooter with 2X optical zoom and a 16MP camera that has an ultra-wide-angle lens. For selfies, the Mi 9 packs a 20MP front camera. According to DxOMark, the device scored 107 points, which is higher than the iPhone XS Max but two points lower than the Huawei Mate 20 Pro.

Powering the Mi 9 is a modest 3,300mAh battery that supports 27W wired charging. It also supports 20W fast wireless charging. To learn more, you can check out our first impressions or watch our video below:
