Apple News+ lets you access hundreds of magazines and newspapers with one subscription

Apple has announced Apple News+, a subscription-based service which gives you access to over 300 popular magazines, newspaper and digital publications in an optimised viewing experience across your personal digital devices. This includes top titles such as Vogue, National Geographic Magazine, People, ELLE, The Wall Street Journal and Los Angeles Times.

Currently available only for the US and Canada, Apple News+ is an extension to its existing free Apple News app. Apple understands that news is very important and it is critical that the news we get is trusted. There’s a team of editors at Apple that curate the top stories that matter to you from various categories. This ensures that you’re getting only the legit stuff and it is definitely more credible than the news you get from social media.

As an effort to support quality journalism, the Apple News+ experience is designed to encourage more discovery of stories with aesthetically pleasing layouts. This includes live animated covers, vivid images and bold typography that’s optimised for a great viewing experience on the iPhone, iPad and the Mac.

According to Apple, subscription to their existing 300 over titles would normally cost over US$8000 per year. With Apple News+, you can access them all including past issues for only US$9.99 (about RM40.63). On top of that, Apple News+ also supports Family sharing where you can share one subscription with up to six family members.

Privacy is also a key focus at today’s announcement. According to Apple, they don’t know what you read and they also don’t let advertisers track you.

Apart from the US, it’s also available in Canada for $12.99 (about RM39). Apple News+ is also coming to Europe, starting in the UK and followed by Australia, later this year. First time users can try the Apple News+ free for one month and the plan will renew automatically after the trial period. You’ll need to update your iOS app to access Apple News+ but unfortunately, it isn’t available for Malaysia at the moment. For more info, you can check out the Apple News+ page.
