The Honor 10 series may be expecting a new phone under its lineup. After introducing the Honor 10 Lite late last year, a new mid-range smartphone has surfaced online and it’s alleged to be the Honor 10i. A Russian tech site revealed the hardware specifications along with images of the said device.
According to the source, the Honor 10i will feature a 6.21” full HD+ IPS LCD display that comes with a small notch at the top. Powering the device would be a Kirin 710 processor with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. However, the battery capacity is yet to be known. It is said that the new device is expected to support fast charging and comes with NFC support for contactless payment.
In the camera department, the Honor 10i is said to have a triple camera setup, featuring 24MP + 8MP + 2MP. On the front, you can expect a 32MP selfie camera in a dewdrop design. There will be a fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone as well. In terms of design, it retains a familiar aurora glass effect at the rear which is common on most Honor smartphones.
Currently, we have no information on its pricing nor availability for the device. Based on the specs, the Honor 10i is very similar to the Honor 10 Lite except that it has one extra camera for the rear. It’s also quite similar to the Huawei Nova 4e that features a 6.15″ Full HD+ display and it also runs on a Kirin 710 processor. The Huawei smartphone also comes with a triple-camera setup as well as a 32MP selfie camera.
Since Honor Malaysia already has two sub-RM1,000 smartphones with a Kirin 710 processor, there’s a possibility that the Honor 10i might not be offered in our local market. On top of that, Honor is also announcing the more affordable Honor 8C in Malaysia very soon.
