Oppo has a new smartphone lineup and it’s called Reno

Oppo’s latest smartphone is the F11 Pro and it comes with pop-up selfie camera. Now it appears that the Chinese smartphone brand is about to introduce a new line up that’s different from the usual. Instead of the usual A, F, Find and R series, the new range is simply called Reno and it’s expected to be revealed next month.

According to Oppo’s Weibo post, Reno is new product line and it isn’t a sub-brand like Realme. Oppo hasn’t dropped any hardware hints on the device but they have shared a collection of artsy images like the one below:

Interestingly, the Reno typeface looks similar to Lenovo especially with its tilted “e”. Even the Oppo logo has been refreshed as well with skinnier text and we’re guessing this could mark a total revamp of its entire product lineup. Based on the header image on Oppo’s Weibo account, the device is expected to be revealed on the 10th April 2019.

During MWC19, Oppo had unveiled a triple-camera setup that comes with a periscope camera design. It was revealed that the camera technology which offers 10X lossless zoom will be introduced on an upcoming model that’s scheduled to be released in Q2 2019. Could Reno be Oppo’s new photography-centric smartphone that compete with Huawei’s P-series? We hope to find out more in the weeks to come.
