Huawei P30 Lite design revealed. Triple-camera setup confirmed

Apart from the P30 and P30 Pro, Huawei is also introducing a P30 Lite which is a budget alternative to its bigger flagship models. This is the successor of the P20 Lite, which was marketed as the Nova 3e in Malaysia.

A couple of weeks back, case maker Spigen had revealed the exterior design of the P30 and P30 Pro. If that’s not enough, the same case maker has just revealed their cases for the P30 Lite.

Based on the case renders, we can confirm that the P30 Lite will come with a triple-camera setup for the rear. Looking at the current smartphone trend, the extra camera is likely to be an ultra-wide-angle camera. The camera array is still aligned vertically but the LED flash is placed right between the second and third camera. Since this is an affordable model, the P30 Lite still retains a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor instead of using an in-display unit.

For the front, the P30 Lite appears to come with a FullView display that has a tiny notch. This is similar to the other P30 models and it is interesting that Huawei isn’t using a punch-hole display for its latest flagship models.

The P30 Lite has two cut-out-holes at the bottom which is an indication that it still has a traditional 3.5mm headphone jack next to its charging port. We don’t have much hardware details at the moment and we are expecting the P30 Lite to run on a mid-range Kirin 710 processor, which is the same unit that’s powering the current Honor 8X.

The Huawei P30 series will be launching in Paris next month on the 26th March 2019. Below is a side-by-side comparison of the P30 Lite, P30 and P30 Pro based on Spigen’s Liquid Crystal case.
