The Samsung Galaxy S10 will be announced very soon. As a key market for the Korean smartphone maker, Malaysia will be among the first countries in the world to get it.
Ahead of its big event, the flagship Galaxy S10+ with the model number SM-G975F/DS has already gotten the green light from SIRIM, Malaysia’s certification body.
According to the listing, the device has dual-SIM support and it will be compatible with a variety of LTE bands including 850MHz, 900MHz, 1800MHz, 2100MHz, 2300MHz and 2600MHz.
The Galaxy S10+ is also certified with WiFi 802.11ax standard or better known as WiFi 6. On paper, this will enable even faster gigabit speeds and better range over WiFi. Although this is the first smartphone to support it, you’ll need a compatible router to take advantage of this new standard.
What’s interesting is the mention of Wireless Power Transfer in the SIRIM listing. Similar to Huawei’s Mate 20 Pro, this will enable reverse wireless charging which you can use to charge other compatible devices without requiring cables. As leaked by Roland Quandt, it appears that Samsung will release a newer Gear IconX wireless earbuds that can be charged directly from the back of the Galaxy S10+.
The Galaxy S10 launch will be taking place in San Francisco on the 20th February 2019. We expect pre-orders to start almost immediately in Malaysia after the global launch event.
