Popular instant messaging app, WhatsApp, has released a new update for iOS users where you can enable Face ID or Touch ID to secure your conversations. This is useful to keep your sensitive chat messages safe especially when you pass the phone to someone for a short while.
The feature is available with the current version 2.19.20 and you can set it up under Settings > Account > Privacy > Face ID. You can choose to lock your WhatsApp immediately or after a preset time.
According to the description, you can still reply to messages from notifications and you can also answer incoming calls while WhatsApp is locked. This additional Face ID security is currently available only for iOS users. A fingerprint authentication feature appears to be under development for Android and it could be released in the coming update.
