#ShotoniPhone: Ever wanted to get your photo on an Apple billboard? Now is your chance

If you’ve ever wanted to have your picture up on an Apple billboard, now is your chance. Apple is calling for submissions worldwide for its next Shot on iPhone campaign. Submissions are accepted from now until February 7.

After which a panel of judges will review the submissions and select ten winning photos. The selected photos will be announced sometime in February and will be featured on billboards in selected cities, Apple retail stores and online.

Your picture will be evaluated by a panel of esteemed judges including Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing and Pete Souza, the chief official White House photographer for President Obama.

So having being selected for the campaign will definitely be an honour but if you’re expecting to get some form of payment from Apple for using your photo on their billboard, don’t hold your breath as there will be no cash incentive for those who their pictures make the cut.

Update [20190125]: Apple has reached out to us to clarify that photographers who have their photos selected will be paid a “licensing fee”. Apple has also updated their original newsroom announcement and rules for the “Shot on iPhone Challenge” accordingly:

Apple believes strongly that artists should be compensated for their work. Photographers who shoot the final 10 winning photos will receive a licensing fee for use of such photos on billboards and other Apple marketing channels.
