Samsung has finally dropped its official teaser for its new Galaxy M series and we get to see a number of features that will come with the device. This is a new affordable smartphone line up that offers a large battery and a new type of display that gives you a larger view.

As speculated before, the Galaxy M will come with a new display that features a waterdrop notch. This will be known as the Infinity-V display as revealed during Samsung’s developer conference.

Like most smartphones, there’s still a noticeable chin at the bottom of the screen. It also supports fingerprint unlocking and the sensor is placed at the rear of the device.

In terms of imaging, the Galaxy M will come with a two instead of three or four cameras like the new Galaxy A7 and A9. Interestingly, the secondary shooter is an ultra-wide selfie camera.

The teaser also states that the Galaxy M will be huge on battery capacity and based on earlier speculation, the Galaxy M20 will come with a 5,000mAh unit. The last time Samsung had included a battery this huge was on the Galaxy A9 Pro from 2016. To charge up the device, it looks like it will come with faster charging up to 3X quicker. From the teaser image, this appears to be a USB Type-C port.

The Galaxy M is also said to come with a powerful processor and the M20 could be sporting a mid-range Exynos 7885 processor with 3GB of RAM.

As confirmed by Samsung, the launch is taking place on 28 January in India. The Galaxy M series is expected to be released globally and this would compete with other sub-RM1,000 smartphones like the Redmi Note 7 and Realme 2 Pro.
